Frequently Asked Questions
What tools do I need to start?
A heat source, a spoon or melting pot, sealing wax, a stamp head with handle, a silicone mat, and scrap paper. Our Foundations course lists safe starter kits.
How do I mail wax seals?
Use flexible wax or reinforce with vellum wraps. Hand-canceling reduces sorting machine pressure. We also teach adhesive-backed seals for flat applications.
Are your courses suitable for beginners?
Yes. Start with Foundations of Wax Sealing and “Heat Control Mastery.” Both assume no prior experience.
Can I use crayons or candle wax?
We do not recommend it. Sealing wax is formulated for strong impressions and adhesion. Candle wax often chips or smears.
What about safety?
We teach heat control, fume awareness, and safe storage. Keep a silicone mat and water nearby; never leave melting wax unattended.
How long do I have access to a course?
Lifetime access for the purchased course with free updates to lessons and checklists.
Do you issue certificates?
Yes, a digital certificate is provided for advanced modules and the teacher training track.
What if I’m on a deadline?
We cover batching methods and cooling cycles to maintain quality during rush jobs. See “Event-scale training” in our catalog.
Do you teach branding applications?
Yes. “Brand & Packaging Seals” integrates color systems, adhesives, and packaging line considerations.
